For this project students will engage with a variety of experimental mark making and transfer techniques. Demonstrations in Trace Monoprint, Frottage, Flower & Vegetable Stamping, Stencils, Bleach Spray, and Foil Monoprinting will form the basis for a variety of prints. Students will then make a puzzle collage using pieces of the prints to create a unique animal design. The Elements of Art: Line, Shape, Color, Texture, and Pattern will be demonstrated through the final animal collage.
Criteria:
- Carefully watch each demonstration & Participate and playfully engage in creating experimental prints using each technique
- Create a contour drawing of the animal you selected to use as the "Template" for your final Stained Glass/Puzzle design (it must have at least 10 pieces)
- Use 4 - 6 different print design pieces in your final Stained Glass/Puzzle design.
- Trace your template pieces carefully (you'll be marked down for visible markings
- Carefully cut out pieces using an X-acto Knife and cutting mat (avoid rips and tears)
- Carefully glue each piece to a piece of black paper (no visible glue smears, avoid tears, get all the way to the edges so that the paper doesn't peal or fall off)
- Space out the pieces so that there is an even line of visible black paper throughout the design
- NEATNESS COUNTS!
